Ladies

Even with a very rainy July, the Clear Creek ladies were able to play on several Wednesdays. Low Net Plus Putts and Even/Odds were enjoyable challenges. Everyone is looking forward to the Clear Creek Ladies' Guest Day on August 5th. A large turn-out is expected. If you have not signed up to play, call the clubhouse and get your name on the list.

Clear Creek ladies will be participating in the annual Pro-Ladies Tournament to be held at The Country Club of Bristol on August 6th. They will be taking several teams with Luther Minor and Adam Dean as the partnering Professionals.

Luther, Casey, and Adam will be sharpening their games before taking on the ladies on Beat the Pro Day at the end of August. The ladies will compete using a team score to beat the pros.

Golf Tip of the Month

Pick up the pace!

Most golf courses have a time limit with regard to pace of play.  This ensures that each group finishes their round in a reasonable amount of time.  We've all been behind slow golfers and have had five-hour rounds.  Here are some tips to help make sure that you are the solution instead of the problem:

Play Ready Golf
When it is your turn to hit - have your club selected, know your yardage, and have your shot of choice pre-determined.

Forget the Mulligans
Do-overs and fifty practice swings in between shots will wear you out, along with the groups behind you.  Hit the ball and move on to the next shot.

Clean your clubs while waiting
Many golfers will clean their clubs right after a shot.  Instead, wait for an opening between shots to clean them.

Bring everything you need
When you are around the greens, you should bring everything you need to complete the hole.  This may include wedges, putter, towel, ball marker, divot repair tool, etc.  Having to run back to the cart to get things that you forgot will cost you time.

Pay attention to time limits
Each course has their own pace of play.  Ours is 2 hours 10 minutes on the front, and 2 hours 20 minutes on the back.  These limits can usually be found on the signs at the top of your golf cart, or on the scorecard.
