Repair Ball Marks
One of the most important things a
golfer can do is to fix his ball marks. It is equally
important to do it properly. Here are some tips to keep the
greens healthy:
1) Insert your divot tool at a 45
degree angle into the outside edge of the ball mark, and only a few
centimeters into the ground. Too far and the roots will be
damaged.
2) Pull toward the center of the ball
mark - do not lift up or twist, as this will pull the roots out.
Go 360 degrees around the mark until all sides are fixed.
3) Tap down the repaired mark with
your putter to create a flat surface.
4) If you have time, fix an extra
ball mark. If everyone did this, the greens would be perfect!
