The Passing of a Friend
Clear Creek lost a dear friend with the passing of George Kuzio on April 21st. George was a staff member for several years and was known for his quick wit, distinctive voice, and unique personality. His trademark "K-Ball" was the most recognizable golf ball at the course; and according to George, it is "the most feared ball in all of golf." He owned and operated The Vinyard restaurant from 1977 to 2004. Upon retirement, he began working in the clubhouse at Clear Creek, where he quickly became a valuable member of our staff. George's greatest legacy is his family, which includes his wife, Martha, seven children, and twenty grandchildren. He will surely be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Golf Tip of the Month
Slow Down Your Backswing! A common problem among high-handicap players
is a backswing that is too fast. This will usually result in an
off-plane swing that is badly out of rhythm. Poor direction, off-center
hits, and inconsistency are byproducts of this flaw.
Ideally, the fastest part of the golf swing should be at impact. In
order to create this, practice building up your swing speed gradually
until contact is made. This begins with a smooth takeaway and continues
with a smooth transition from the top to impact. |
