Golf Tip of the Month
Etiquette
on the Golf Course
One of the most common questions that
golfers have is "who has priority on the course." The simple
answer is "the fastest group", but this is not always the case.
Foursomes have priority on a busy day
when every hole is occupied. Letting another group around wouldn't
help the pace of play, unless there is a hole between groups.
There are times when
singles or twosomes will skip holes to get around slower groups.
This goes against proper etiquette and should only happen in extreme
circumstances.
It is important to keep up with the group ahead of you to improve the
overall pace of play. Remember: courtesy on the golf course makes
everyone's round more enjoyable, and is vital to the overall health of the
sport of golf.
