Getting Back
Into The Swing After a long, cold winter, everyone has the urge to get active in a hurry. While that is a good thing, it is important to remember to take it easy the first few times in order to prevent injury. At this point in the season, our muscles have lost tone and our joints and tendons are not as flexible as they were at mid-season last year. Take your time and warm up. Always stretch before hitting balls. Start with short irons and wedges before working toward long irons and the driver. Maybe the most important point: Work on your short game! Your full swing will recover much faster than your feel for putting and chipping. There is nothing worse than starting the year 10 strokes worse than your last round. This is almost always due to a loss of short game skill. Shaving strokes requires that you start your practice at the cup and work back to the tee box. Make it your goal in 2011 to become a better putter and chipper. |
Ladies Golf Association The Clear Creek Ladies' Golf Association will kick off their 2011 golf season with an Organizational Meeting on Wednesday, March 10th at 10:00am in the clubhouse. At that time, we will go over the handbook, discuss the 2011 budget, sign up for committees, and listen to suggestions for improving this organization. Many fun activities are planned for this year. All of the ladies will be looking forward to King for a Day, Guest Day, Beat the Pro Day, The Clear Creek Invitational, and many more com-petitions. Ladies of all ages and abilities are invited to join our organization. We stress the idea of coming out to have a fun day of laughter and fellowship with lady golfers. *Courtesy of Mimi Tilley |
