Ladies Golf Association The Clear Creek Ladies' Golf Association had four teams to participate in the Pro-Ladies' Golf Tournament held at Bristol Country Club. They all had a wonderful time and truly appreciate Casey, Adam, and Luther taking their time to play in this event.
August 31st was Beat the Pro Day for the Clear Creek ladies.
Casey and Adam put up a big fight but were unable to overcome the
victorious ladies. The final score was Pros - 72, Ladies - 67.
Better luck next year, guys. *Courtesy of Mimi Tilley |
Golf Tip Of The Month
Posture Makes Perfect An often overlooked but key element of the golf swing is posture. The spine angle at which a golfer sets up is critical to the swing plane that he/she is trying to achieve. Standing too upright makes the swing too rounded. This forces you to swing around your body, leading to a path that is across your intended line. Bending over too much causes a vertical swing plane, which leads to chunked shots, high ball-flight, and too much backspin. The proper spine angle is 90 degrees to the club. This means that posture will change depending on the length and lie of your club. Ex: You will need to lean over more for a wedge than a driver to gain the 90 degree angle. Once you have set up in the correct position, it is critical to maintain it throughout the swing. Raising up during the swing will undo all the work you put in to get to that point. Remember to use visual references to help determine which posture is needed for each club. A video camera or mirror will greatly help to accomplish your goals. |
